The attitudes of Gulf countries have recently changed in dealing with Islamic State (Daash) after Western reports monitored considerable support from Qatar and Saudi Arabia for the organization in order to end Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria and to prevent the progress of the Shiite supporters in Iraq under the former Iraqi government of Prime Minister Nuri Maliki.
