The Catholic church is celebrating the declaration of sainthood of Pope John XXIII who became a pope in 1958 until his death in 1963 and who was declared “blessed,” a stage prior to declaration of sainthood according to the Christian doctrines, on September 3, 2000 by Pope John Paul II who sat on the Holy See from 1978 to his death in 2005.
